More Writing Sites that Pay You Upfront Payment

Laurie Tam
I have been a writer for a year since July 2008 and love finding out about different places online that pays their writers. I will admit that here at AC most of my articles are in the $2 something range. Despite the earlier articles I wrote where you can make money at these other sites, I haven't list all of them yet. These are new of what I found and some that most people don't know about yet.

1. Yovia at www.yovia.com = They have different subjects that you can write about and on their site, you get to earn by blogging. They use the Wordpress format and you get to decide on what to call your blog and can have more than one blogs. I have my own blog there located at http://yovia.com/blogs/financialadvices and I will admit blogging for them is fun. It reminds me of the next site coming up.

2. Today at www.today.com= They pay you a buck per postings if you get accepted. And they also have that ad opportunity where you can earn more. You get paid when you reach $50 and only pay by paypal. Not everyone likes today but you can start somewhere and can only blog once a day to get paid a buck per posting.

3. Internet Brands at www.internetbrands.com = The pay per articles ranges between $4-$10 an article with 150-500 words. They are always looking for writers. They claim that they have 300-5000 articles a month for writers to grab.

4. BrightHub at www.brighthub.com = You can try to be one of their writers or contributing writers. The CW people gets a bigger revenue than the regular writer. This one reminds me of Associated Content because you get upfront payment at $10 an article plus revenue which is great.

5. Wisegeek at www.wisegeek.com = Conjecture owns this site as well as other ones and they only pay upfront at $10 each. I was not lucky enough to be chosen.

6. Right Copywriter at www.rightcopywriter.com = Unfortunately the site didn't state how much the writers get but claim that they are always hiring.

7. Content Divas at www.contentdivas.com = I have a writer friend who got accepted to write for them recently and the pay from them should be pretty good. They are also looking for editors and you can try to get both if you have previous experiences on both areas.

8. Looking For Clues at www.lookingforclues.com = They pay between $10-$20 each with at least 800 words for 6 paragraphs and up to 1600 words. The articles they are looking for are practical and never been published in order to get paid. They only make payments to either premier or business paypal. Never to personal Paypal accounts.

9. Freelance Writing Gigs at www.freelancewritinggigs.com = Not only are they a site where you read articles but also job postings everyday for writing. The site will pay $10 each to writers interested in writing on there.

10. ECopywriters at www.ecopywriters.com =They pay at least 2 cents a word and that is pretty good. I suggest that if you are a newbie at writing, wait until you are professional at writing articles before applying there.

Each of these sites are worth writing for and make upfront payment with the exception on BrightHub which you get revenues too. Write everyday where in lots of sites looking for writers, they need to see your writing samples to determine whether you would be a good fit. In time if you keep writing, you may be able to make more than you thought you would.

Great list! And, unique as there are some on here that I've never heard of. I am in the process of testing for wiseGEEK and articles range from $10 to $14, and they like to see the word count be around 400. You have to do 3 batches of 3 articles and then you MAY get hired after that!

Good list, but one thing about ecopywriters. Yes, they pay a little more than textbroker.com or Associated Content, but the approval process for an article takes much longer than either site, so beware. You may be paid good. You may have a long time to wait. It was too long a wait for me, so I don't think I will write for them anymore.

I tried Today.com, and never saw any kind of payment. BrightHub is good, but I've yet to see any requests come up for my articles.
