Pam Parent
Morning meditation is know for its spiritual and emotional benefits. It is a way to relax and reduce stress caused from our hectic, busy lives. Studies have now shown that meditation can also be beneficial to many health conditions if done on a regular basis. So start the morning off right with morning meditation, and begin to reap the emotional and health benefits.

Morning Meditation and Active Fighting Genes

Researchers at Harvard School discovered that people who regularly used meditation on a daily basis had far more disease fighting genes than those who practiced no form of meditation. Researchers found genes that protect us from conditions like pain, high blood pressure, infertility and rheumatoid arthritis were activated. This activation was caused by the relaxation effect of meditation or yoga. This may be just as powerful as medical drugs, but without the side effects. The more a person practices morning meditation or any relaxation method, the more the benefits will increase with regular practice. A person who frequently practices relaxation methods may have the best chance of remaining free from arthritis and joint pain. It was also shown that a person may have a stronger immunity, healthier hormone levels and lower blood pressure.

Morning Meditation Benefits Irritable Bowel Syndrome

A person that suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, that practices meditation twice daily, can greatly reduce and improve their symptoms of bloating, diarrhea and constipation. The meditation was so effective in patients that had this health condition that researchers at the University of New York recommend this as an effective treatment for irritable bowel syndrome.

Morning Meditation Benefits Inflammation

Stress can lead to inflammation, which is a known link to health conditions such as arthritis, heart disease, asthma and skin conditions like psoriasis, according to the Researchers at Emory University located in the United States. Meditation and relaxation can help prevent and treat symptoms by turning off the stress response. A study at at McGill University in Canada found that a person who meditated daily had clinically improved symptoms in psoriasis, which is a skin condition that causes redness and irritation.

Morning Meditation

Consult with a physician before starting any meditation routine. A physician can help you safely incorporate a morning meditation routine, especially if a person already has pre-existing health issues. Never substitute medication for meditation to help any health conditions without consulting with a doctor.
