There are many pros and cons to working out in the early morning hours. A morning exercise routine could be the answer to your exercise time crunch, especially if you are exceptionally busy during the daytime hours. Exercising in the morning is one of the healthiest things you can do for your body, as it encourages your body to adjust to the morning hours and gets your day started faster. In addition, it can help your early morning productivity: while everyone else around you will be struggling to get into the work mindset, you can truly jumpstart your day.

What are the pros and cons of morning workouts at the gym?

Pros:
- You are less likely to be late for work, school, or other morning commitments. Making an early rise time in the morning one of your priorities can be one of the healthiest decisions you ever make: and it could save your job in the process.
- The gym is not as crowded in the mornings. Whenever I go for my morning workouts, I find that the gym and workout facilities are not as busy than other hours (afternoon, evening). In addition, it makes it easier to get in the gym and out, when you have to.
- Don't need to worry about being too tired to workout in the evening: you're getting it done and out of your way early on, meaning you don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day!
- Usage of less caffeine to get your body going. You can gain natural energy just by exercising and moving around in the morning. It can essentially replace caffeine or those high-sugar energy drinks.
- Frees up your evenings for social and other activities. Lets face it, the last thing we want to do when we finish work is to go do more "work." Relax with the television or with friends in the evenings and simmer down from a hard day at the office.

Cons:
- Can be a bit early for some. Not a morning person? You may have a difficult time waking up and finding the energy to start exercising.
- Breakfast in the morning is important, and you may have to miss it. Who wants to run after eating a large breakfast? You will undoubtedly have to change up your morning food routine, and many people may not be willing to do this.
- Earlier bed time. If you are waking up early to go exercising, you have to adjust your schedule so you go to sleep earlier in the evening: meaning you may have to miss your favorite primetime show.
- More opportunities to add calories. After a long and tough workout, you may overindulge in bad foods, essentially wiping away the benefits from your workout.
- May initially be sleepy. If you are waking up early to go running or to the gym, you may experience some initial symptoms of sleepiness. These can be eliminated, however, after a week or so of waking up early.
