MorningStar Farms Grillers Prime: Flavorful Veggie Burgers
Perfect for Vegetarians or Anyone Wanting to Eat Less Red Meat
The Purchase
MorningStar Grillers Prime veggie burgers can be found in the frozen food section of most grocery stores. I've purchased them at Smith's, Albertson's, and Walmart. They generally cost about $5.00 for a package of four burgers. MorningStar has many other vegetarian products as well. Associated Content writer Marie Anne St. Jean gives a thumbs-up to MorningStar's sausage patties.
The Healthy Facts
The first ingredient listed on MorningStar Prime Grillers is textured vegetable protein. The veggie burgers are cholesterol-free. We are always looking for low-sodium choices, and these vegetarian burgers fit that bill as well.

Preparation Suggestions
MorningStar Grillers Prime must be kept frozen. They can be grilled, micro-waved (1-1/2 minutes), or cooked in a skillet on top of the stove (7-1/2 minutes). I don't like them micro-waved, as they get too mushy for my taste. I generally make them in a skillet. Season the burgers with black pepper, steak sauce and low-sodium Worcestershire. Add sliced onions to the pan as the veggie burgers are grilling. Place the burgers on whole wheat buns and top with mushrooms or tomatoes. I like to place a slice of cheese on each burger and put them under the broiler for a few minutes.
Side Dishes
Baked beans pair well with MorningStar Grillers Prime. A tossed green salad is another good option. French fries made from sweet potatoes would also complement these vegetarian burgers.
