The knees don't work the way they used to


the spring in the step is sometimes more like a shuffle

It's harder to differentiate between navy and black and gray

Sometimes confusion sets in for things

that used to come so easily

And the hearing is not quite so acute

It's painful to watch the subtle changes

The inevitability of the aging process

It's sad to see their mortality

It's sad facing my own.
