Mortgage Rescue Companies a Foreclosure Nightmare for Homeowners

Scams Running Rampant in All 50 States

In many states there are fraud companies promising to rescue homeowners' mortgages from foreclosure. Do not fall for this fraud contact the better business bureau in your state.

On August 16, 2007 according to a report from the better business bureau, foreclosures rescue companies are defrauding homeowners across the United States who are facing foreclosure is on the rise. That is sad to see that so many unscrupulous scammers who are taking advantage of desperate people but its an age old trick and easy money for the scammers.

As more hard working American families face foreclosure, the number of foreclosure rescue companies rise. That is sad but it is only natural that scammers want free money. Within the homeowners, they see desperation to save their homes at all costs.

How do these foreclosure rescue companies find the homeowners? There are few ways actually; one of the biggest ways is when unsuspecting homeowners do a search on how to save their mortgage on the internet using the search engines. The web pages that come up high in the rankings are numerous and targeted at desperate homeowners. These web sites make huge false promises that the company does not intend to keep most of the time.

The mortgage rescue companies also look at the lists of homeowners facing foreclosure, available in most major newspapers and they see dollar signs. A representative of the company then calls the desperate homeowner and offers a way out of the financial nightmare, however with a scammer, their methods could possibility get a homeowner in even more trouble.

These foreclosure rescue companies always seem to know the right words to say to get the unsuspecting homeowners to fall into their snare, and then the company will take the money and run. Most of them promise to stop a foreclosure quickly and repair credit ratings at the same time. These mortgage rescue companies do little or anything in reality for the desperate homeowners.

You can tell when these fraud companies are in business by looking for the states with the highest percentages of foreclosures in the nation. Currently those states with the highest percent of foreclosures are Georgia, Colorado, and Ohio, and you can bet the scammers are hard at work seeking their desperate prey, the homeowner facing foreclosure. You can bet your bottom dollar that within those states there are mortgage rescue companies running rampant, and making big dollars.

Even thought the majority of foreclosure rescue companies are in the aforementioned states, the better business bureau has received complaints from every state in the nation. That is truly sad, but con men have always been a part of our society.
