You can lay some Morton coarse Kosher salt down in a plate and rim your Margarita or Bloody Mary drink glass when you're having a party. You rub the rim of the glass with lime, invert it onto the plate and swirl. Strain your chilled drink and pour in into the prepared glass. It makes your drink present very well.
According to the recipe on the back of the Morton box you can combine finely minced crystallized ginger with the salt and rim a glass with this. Add this touch to a red grapefruit and orange juice concentrate that has been chilled and mixed with crushed ice and you have their Salty Ginger Rimmed Ruby Red Rita. Skewer a lime and a cherry and perhaps a slice of grapefruit or orange and lay this over the top of the glass.This was created by Nikki Norman. When cooking with Morton Coarse Kosher salt you should increase your Kosher Salt by one tablespoon for each 1/4 cup of regular salt. When baking, you can add Kosher salt as a topping when baking breads, pretzels and bagels. Mix the salt with caraway or poppy seeds, garlic or onion for more flavors.
You can Kosher poultry and meat with kosher salt. Let your product soak in cool water for 30 minutes. Drain. Cover all sides and cavities with the Kosher salt. Let stand for 1 hour. Shake off salt and rinse twice with tap water.

You can make flavored salts to give as gifts. Find an attractive jar. Make sure it has a lid or cork. You can use canning jars. Fill with Kosher Coarse Salt and add a lemon rind or orange rind. This gives you a nice flavored salt.Tie roping or ribbon around the top and tag it with the ingredients. Another super gift to make with Kosher Salt is Bath Salts. Again, you need a nice looking jar. Fill the jar with your Kosher Salt and add dried lavender and some lavender oil. You can add dry rose petals and rose oil for a rose version. Peppermint oil will make a refreshing addition to a bath. Tie a pretty ribbon around the lid and a little card describing what is in the jar. French ribbon gives the jar a very finished, professional look. The oils can be found in craft stores like JoAnn's , Michael's or AC Moore. If you know what someones perfume is you can add a little of that scent to the salts. It's also nice to attach a little scoop to the jar for dispensing.
Morton Kosher Salt can be used to make salt dough for the kids to play with. You can put some in a jar to clean the insides if the mouth of the jar is small. You can use it to clean a disposal and prevent odors. Rub Coarse Kosher salt on your heels to smooth rough callouses.

Needless to say salt has no calories. It certainly has many uses.
