Mosaic Christmas Tree Backsplash

This mosaic Christmas tree backsplash is the perfect home Christmas gift for Kids to make Mom or Dad this year. You can use this mosaic Christmas tree backsplash to hang on the wall above your stove or even above the sink!

To Make a Mosaic Christmas Tree Backsplash You Will need:

Plywood

Mosaic tiles

Grout

Tile adhesive

Flat marbles

Picture hanging wire

Screws

Jigsaw

The first step is to go ahead and measure out how large you want your Christmas tree back splash to be. Trace out the simple lines of a Christmas tree in this size on your wood board.

Use the jig saw to cut it out.

Tip: if you do not want to do any cutting, then create the tree in the middle of the board. You can fill in the background in another color.

Now, start with the ornaments on the Christmas tree. I like to use flat backed marbles for this. Simply apply a dab of glue or tile adhesive on the back of the marble. Start placing them on the Christmas tree back splash to mimic ornaments.

Use silver beads to glue on a garland on the Christmas tree tile backsplash. Try to choose silver or gold beads that are the same depth as your tiles, this way the grout will not cover them.

Now, use green tiles to fill in the rest of the Christmas tree. You can use tumbled green sea glass, broken green bottle piece, broken green tiles, or even bits of broken cemented stained green.

Now, let the tile adhesive set. Fill in the grout and wipe off after it dries to a haze.

Now, for the sides I have a couple recommendations. You can cover them with tiles as well, but you can opt for some other looks.

Look for nice thick green wood beads. String them on a piece of twine. Start gluing the string of wood green beads to the sides of the Christmas tree backsplash.

Now, on to hanging your Christmas tree back splash. I like to simply screw tow screws in the back of the tree, about 1/3 of the way down from the top. Run line of picture hanging wire between the screws.

Now, whomever you give the Christmas tree back splash to can use a hook to hang it on the wall in their kitchen anywhere they want. If they want, they can also simply rest it on the wall and counter.

These Christmas tree backsplashes also make great hot plates and cutting boards!
