Mosaic Tile Heart

April Higney
A mosaic tile heart,
it separated, came apart.
Upon each piece, a painted picture,
of the meaning of love, it's art.

One piece holds the mysteries of the mind,
another that holds, compassionately kind.
One piece holds the past, breaking away,
another the future that can somehow bind.

A small square of reason,
a picture of a flower, color washed away,
a soft brush paints anew,
refreshing the symbol to join this piece of day.

A few blank tiles, cast in quiet white,
joining each fragment, piece by piece.
One painted of skies and lakes, a mixture of blue,
years, past tears, silent release.

One piece holds a symphony of smiles,
another, beauty in the sunrise.
One piece holds the emotions, letting go,
another held in special eyes.

A mosaic tile heart,
rebuilding what came apart,
Upon each piece, a painted picture,
of the meaning of love, it's art.

This is really lovely April and I like the rhythm of it too. It's a song and doesn't even need the music to touch my heart in inexpressible ways. Thanks

This is truly awesome and how original. I guess, to one degree or another, we all have mosaic tile hearts, don't we?

I love how each tile represents something. Very clever!
