Mosque at Ground Zero

Really Obama?

Krissy Pinkerton
Obama has recently approved the building of a mosque at ground zero. It will be a place of worship for Muslims. I don't know about anybody else but I'm pretty sure the families of people who died there on that day will not be too pleased to learn that a shrine will be placed there for Muslims. I understand this is a free country. That means freedom of religion which is great but I can think of thousands of other places they could build their mosque instead of the place where many Americans died. I believe it will be a place for certain Muslims to gloat about what they did on 9/11.

The first time I heard about a mosque being built at ground zero, I thought it was just a cruel rumor but it does turn out that out president approved the building. I can think of nothing worse than the families of those who died seeing this and feeling even more reminded of what happened there that day. My faith in Obama is gone after learning this. First of all, how do we even have the money to build this? Shouldn't he be more concerned about the recession? It's one of the worst ideas I have ever heard. I understand that not all Muslims are terrorists but why would we build a mosque at the very place where Muslim terrorist killed innocent Americans. It's plain stupid. To have a president that has agreed to his certainly makes me wonder whose side he is really on. It truly sickens me that our president wold even think this to be an option.

Obviously the building of this will stir controversy. I can't think of really anything else that would be more offensive or inappropriate. Isn't ground zero supposed to be a place where the families of those who died and the rest of America can mourn such a great loss? According to Obama it means nothing. I love America but it saddens me that we have a leader who would do this. I hope that the protests prevent this from happening, if not, what will he be willing to do next?
