In previous articles I have discussed many models of these inventive little machines and recently have decided that if I win the lottery I will own one or two of these.

In searching for affordable scooters on-line you will find a plethora of cheap imitations of name brand scooters which are made overseas and people are finding that the cheap initial price is less than stellar when they get the machine and there is no real warranty and service by the seller is not an option unless you fork out more cash!

So what works best in situations like this is to stick with the name brand vendors that you know will be here in a year when you need help with your scooter. To that end I have been researching scooters for quite a while now and have arrived at some good choices for entry level scooters that will not break the proverbial bank.

My very first choice for a 49cc scooter that will cost you about $1000 is the Verucci Spyder. This model scooter has a four stroke gas engine which develops 3.15 hp right out of the box and is capable of doing 25 to 30 mph depending on the rider and road conditions. Next one that is still quite affordable is the 2010 Kymco Agility 50 scooter. 49cc 4 stroke engine. These scooters are made in Taiwan where a great number of scooters are made for worldwide distribution. www.motorcycle.com

GS Motor Works offers a wide array of electric and gas powered scooters for well below MSRP, for $669 which includes shipping to your door you can have one that I like from them that is their "2010 E-Go Electric Scooter" This one is a 500 Watt electric motor and can get up to 22 mph.

Second one from them is a gas engine scooter with 149cc four stroke engine that gets 10 hp rating. This scooter can go 55+ mph! has all street legal lighting including turn signals, head and tail lights. for $1189 and shipping is included in this price! it seems like one of the best bargains around. Their model number is ATM150-A 2010

finally a third entry from the same store is the CY150-A 2010 which is similar to the ATM150 but costs a little bit less at $1089 including shipping to your door. Specifications are the same 4 stroke engine, 10 hp, 55+ mph.
