Most Anticipated Action Movies of 2010

2009 gave us 2012, but 2010 looks to be an action-packed movie year. Here are the movies I'm looking forward to. Click each title to view details and the trailer if it's available.

From Paris with Love (February 2010) - John Travolta (bald!) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers star in this action flick about stopping terrorists in Paris. Tagline - "His first mission may well be his last..."

Iron Man 2 (May 2010) - Robert Downey, Jr. is back with Scarlett Johannson as Black Widow and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash. I'm in! Rumor has it that this movie, along with other super hero movies such as Captain America, will set up the 2011 release of The Avengers. Tagline - "2."

Inception (July 2010) - Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, and Ellen Page (in I hope a non-Juno-like role for a change) star in this action/thriller about people who can read people's dreams and also implant dreams into people. With Christopher Nolan at the helm (after his brilliant direction of The Dark Knight) I'm prepared to be impressed. Tagline - "Your mind is the scene of the crime."

Salt (July 2010) - Angelina Jolie as a kickass spy accused of being a traitor must clear her name. Perfect casting and the best trailer of the bunch. If you need more Angie action, Wanted 2 opens in 2011. Tagline - "Who is Salt?"

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 1 (November 2010) - Having seen all the other movies and met the cast, I'm in this until the bitter end. It should be fun to see our favorite witches and wizards out in the Muggle world. Tagline - "One way, one fate, one hero."

Robin Hood (May 2010) - Ridley Scott - the action director extraordinaire reteams with Russell Crowe (they made Gladiator) in the lead with Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion. No tagline yet because the movie remains officially untitled. It's going to be hard to top Alan Rickman's delicious portrayal of the Sheriff of Nottingham from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

The Expendables (August 2010) - Sylvester Stallone wrote and directed (don't roll your eyes, he wrote and directed Rocky and it won the Best Picture Oscar) this tale of mercenaries who must stop a South American dictator. He brings along Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bruce Willis for the ride. Should be one hell of a testosterone fest. Tagline - "Yippee-ki-yay I'll be back Adrian!" Just kidding.

Clash of the Titans (March 2010) - A high school kid finds out he is the son of Zeus and must battle Hades. No pressure! Tagline - "Titans will clash." I hope the movie is more imaginative than the tagline.
