This Has Been a Great Year for Movies!

The Expendables - The plot centers around a team of mercenaries, who get sent to South America to overthrow a corrupt dictator. The cast is expected to be a sensation with big names like Sylvestor Stallone, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, and Jet Li. The cast also consists of Hollywood stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, and Mickey Rourke. I am most excited to see this film!

The Book of Eli - This is a wonderful movie starring Denzel Washington as Eli, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world. He must deliver a book that holds mankind's secrets within it's pages. He journeys across America, with hopes of saving mankind, with the contents of the book. Gary Oldman co-stars and also does his role convincingly. I highly recommend this film!

Salt - Angelina Jolie stars as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who goes on the run after she gets accused of being a Russian spy. This action -thriller flick has been bringing in the big bucks at theaters, yet still has been unable to knock Inception out of it's number one position. Salt was released by Columbia Pictures, and I expect that it will be one of Jolie's best roles to date.

Iron Man 2 - Jon Favreau returns to direct the sequel to Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. played his role to perfection, and part 2 is sure to be just as good. Very excited to see Mickey Rourke, Scarlett Johanssen, and Gwyneth Paltrow in co-starring roles.

Inception - Leonardo DiCaprio plays one of his darkest roles to date. The film is certainly turning into Hollywood box-office gold, even beating out Angelina Jolie's star power. I am expecting this film to be very dark and graphic, and that is the only reason it isn't listed closer to number one on my list.

Ramona and Beezus - Beverly Cleary's children's book series finally has seen the light of day, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I read the children's series in the 1980's and was a big fan. I cannot wait to see if the movie lives up to the hype.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse - The vampire and werewolf rift continues on in part 3 of the Twilight ffranchise. Bella is finally forced to decide between Jacob and Edward. The vampire love story, and three-way love triangle has left fans in a frenzy. Starring the usual Twilighters: Bella, Jacob, and Edward. I am hoping that Eclipse is better than New Moon (I did not like the ending at all). Guess we will have to wait and see.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - The movie is set in medieval Persia, about a princess and princess who must stop an terrible ruler from destroying the world. The deadly Sands of Time is released and threatens to destroy the kingdom. The sands must be returned to the hourglass or ferocious demons will take over and conquer the world. Jake Gyllenhaal is Dastan, Gemma Arterton as Tamina, and Ben Kingsley as Nizam.

Knight and Day - Say what you will, but, Tom Cruise always makes a good movie, this time he is paired up with Cameron Diaz.

Alice in Wonderland - This time Alice returns to Wonderland, as an adult. As she discovers a forgotten world, she learns about herself, and her destiny. A great remake starring Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, along with Anne Hathaway, and Helena Bonham Carter (who does her role with mad conviction).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 - Harry Potter fans get an early treat when another installment is delivered to theaters on November 19. It is sure to be another great addition to the Harry Potter franchise that has received critical acclaim.

A-Team - I'm expecting humor and a lot of light-hearted comedy in this 1980s remake starring Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Face, Jessica Biel as Charissa Sosa, Sharlto Copley as Murdock, Patrick Wilson as Lynch. Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson scored the role of B.A. Baracus. The plot centers on a group of Iraq War veterans who want to clear their name with the United States military, of a crime of which they did not commit.
