2009 proved be a good year for romantic comedies but from the looks of it, 2010 is sure to top it. Romantic comedies are perfect for going out on a date or sometimes even just going with friends. I have watched a lot of previews, read a lot of reviews and decided what I believe to be the most anticipated romantic comedies of the upcoming year.

Leap Year: This romantic comedy stars Amy Adams, Matthew Goode and Adam Scott. Amy Adam's character is desperate for her boyfriend to propose to her but since he hasn't "popped the question" yet, she finds a tradition in Ireland that allows her to propose to her boyfriend on leap year but on her way there, she meets a very intriqing man who may cause her to change her mind. From the previews and synopsis I have read, this looks like a winner in the romantic comedy section for 2010. It comes to theaters January 8th and is rated PG.

Youth in Revolt: Stars Micheal Cera playing his main role of the guy that never gets the girl. He gets sick of his image so he decides to create a new one to impress a girl that he likes. Ray Liotta also makes an appearence in this movie and it sure to be filled with tons of laughs not unlike the rest of the movies that include Micheal Cera. He tries to create a new persona of a person he believes that his new love interest will like. To find out if his efforts work, check out this movie coming to theaters on January 8th, rated PG-13.

When in Rome: This movie stars Kristen Bell, who plays a girl confused with love and decides to make a wish to find it when she is in Rome. Fortunetly for her, a lot of options come pouring her way but some of them are not at all what she hoped they would be. Josh Duhamel plays one of her many love interests in this film. The comedy comes when she encounters men that aren't exactly "up to par" when it comes to what she is looking for. This movie is said to be filled with a lot of laughs and maybe even a happy ending, I guess you will have to see it to find out! Comes to theaters January 29th.

The Back-Up Plan: This film stars Jennifer Lopez, in her first film for some time, playing a women desperate to get married and have children but it seems that the marriage part is not happening anytime soon for her character. Worried that she is running out of time, she decides to have a baby by herself until she meets a man who really seems to have potential to be "the one" after she had already became pregnant. This film is sure to have many laughs about problems that men and women deal with everyday but also cracks some jokes about dating. A must-see for romantic comedy lovers, comes to theaters March 16th.

Valentine's Day: A perfect date movie for the upcoming year, packed with loads of stars. The movie features Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba and Ashton Kutcher. It is about all of the characters stories about finding love including a lot of laughs about dating and "finding the right one". It hits theaters on Febuary 12th and is rated PG-13.

Well there you have it, the most anticipated romantic comedies for 2010. So whether your looking for a date night with someone special or just want to have some laughs with friends, these movies will be sure to do the trick! I hope you enjoy!

We saw a preview for Valentine's Day and my husband thought it would be good b/c of all the famous people in it... but then once the preview was over I'm not so sure he's into it anymore :) He's not a fan of many romantic comedies, but b/c of all the stars I might still get him to watch it! When in Rome and Leap Year also look cute. I haven't heard of the others so thanks for the list!!
