Myth: Fat is Bad.
Truth: There are fats that are healthy and unhealthy for you.
It's always about what type of fat you are consuming. Saturated fats like high-fat milk products and fatty meats will clog your arteries. Trans fats like deep fried food will increase your chance of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes.
Mono unsaturated and polyunsaturated fats like vegetable oil, nuts and seed can help cholesterol levels. Healthy Omega 3 fats like salmon, can lower your rick of heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer's, depression, cancer and many more.
Myth: Nuts are fattening.
Truth: Nuts can be added to your healthy diet. Almonds and sunflower seeds are nutrient-rich. They contain mostly healthy fats. Nuts are great for your heart and may decrease your chance of Type 2 diabetes, gallstones and some cancers.
Myth: Soy is amazing for you.
Truth: Soy has lots to offer, but isn't exactly amazing. Soy beans are full of proteins, vitamins and minerals.
Myth: Coffee is bad for you.
Truth: Coffee isn't bad, but tea is better. Regular coffee drinkers are now less likely to develop type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease and cirrhosis of the liver. But still you should choose tea over coffee because it has less caffeine. (Source)
Myth: Taking vitamin supplements will cut down your risk of getting diseases.
Truth: The actual food is better for you. The disease fighting actual foods like vegetables and fruits can't be matched to a vitamin pill. And some time high-dose supplements may really be harmful to you.
Myth: Cutting your carbs will make you lose weight.
Truth: Low-carb diets are only a short-term fix. These are the healthy eating habits that can help you consume a diet low in fat and calories, eat breakfast regularly, keep your eating patterns the same all days of the week. Also exercise every day.
