Most Common Reasons for Wanting and Not Wanting to Write

Mag Inzire
Some say writing is a talent, yet the way that I see it, everyone has the ability to do it. Some may be better at it, but in reality, every day of our lives is like writing a book, a paragraph or even just a sentence. The most common reasons that I have found in choosing to write or not are listed here:

I Want To Write Because...

It helps me release my inner thoughts.
I can reminisce about my younger days.
I am able to feel good.
I like to put my thoughts down on paper.
I have many stories to tell.
I think a lot about other people and their thoughts.
I enjoy writing and I can sometimes forget about everything else, it is a release for me.
I can use my imagination and put them into feelings.
I like to think of what is, what could have been and what will be.

I Don't Want To Write Because...

It feels as if it's time consuming.
It won't amount to anything.
Everyone will think it is silly.
I already have a paying job.
It may just be a waste of my time.
Sometimes I draw a blank.
I'm afraid of the money and time I have to invest.
It seems like a long journey to accomplish something.
I am afraid no one will like or consider my work.

So, I now choose to write when I want to write...how about you? Just remember we all have a story to tell. And there is always someone wanting to listen.

I too think lots about times when I was younger when I write. It brings back very fond memories . I love this part the most. Thanks:)

Nice list and one that made me think about why I write. Some days it is much easier than others, for sure.

I want to write because I like words & weaving them together.
I don't want to write because I'm afraid the story will end.
