Miami Dolphins. Sure, the Dolphins weren't exactly expected to go to the Super Bowl this year, but losing your first thirteen games is clearly disappointing. The Dolphins avoided total embarrassment by finding a way to avoid going winless. There win over the Ravens kept them from being a part of NFL history. The Dolphins have recently hired Bill Parcells as vice president of football operations. Only time will tell if his hiring will help this dismal football team. With a number one pick in the wings and Parcells in charge, maybe they can turn things around.
Baltimore Ravens. When Steve McNair came over from Tennessee just a few years ago many people thought the Ravens had just what they needed to get them back to the Super Bowl. With a defense that was one of the best in the league, the addition of McNair seemed to be just what was needed to make this team complete. McNair has proven though that he is not the quarterback he once was. Battling constant injuries the Ravens have relied more on their back up quarterback. The Ravens had a legitimate chance at beating the Patriots until a late game collapse. Even worse than this was their loss to the Miami Dolphins in a game they should have one.
Chicago Bears- Last year this team was in the Super Bowl. This year they won't even make the playoffs. Battling quarterback challenges, the Bears have yet to get it going this season. They have benched Rex Grossman, and now appear ready to go back to him at the quarterback position. Not even the great Devin Hester has been able to save this team.
Cincinnati Bengals- The Bengals currently stand at 5-9. This team has too much talent to have such a dismal record. Carson Palmer has to be one of the best quarterbacks in football. Around him you have such talent as Chris Henry, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and Chad Johnson. Despite such talent the Bengals have managed only to win 5 games this year. Head coach Marvin Lewis may be in just a little trouble.
St. Louis Rams. Many people thought this team might actually make a run at the Super Bowl this year. The Rams have been far from a Super Bowl team this year managing to win a lousy 3 games. This despite having such talent as Stephen Jackson at running back and Issac Bruce at wide receiver. It will be interesting to see how Scott Linehan fairs after his now second season.
