Everyone is trying to save money when possible. If you are interested in purchasing a new car, and want a car that will save you money on fuel, 2010 offers many cars that can do just that. I have listed below a variety of fuel efficient vehicles for 2010 available now or in the near future.

In early 2010 Ford is making plans to sell the Ford Fiesta. This will be a gas powered car that gets about 40 mpg. This model has been available in Europe for a couple of years, except in a diesel version.

The 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid, a third generation has estimated fuel efficiency rating of 50 mpg. The third generation Prius offers better mileage, enhanced performance and new design features. The 2010 Prius has a moonroof and solar panel features available. The Prius will be available Spring 2010.

2010 Honda's Insight Hybrid has an estimated fuel efficiency of 40 mpg city and 43 mpg highway. The Insight has room for five passengers with standard side airbags. There are three trims of the Insight to choose from. 1) the Insight EX 2) Insight EX with Navigation 3) Insight LX.

The 2010 Chevrolet Volt is an extended rage electric vehicle. The Volt uses a lithium ion battery with a gasoline powered, range extending engine that drives a generator to provide electric power when you drive beyond the 40 mile battery range. This means that someone that travels 40 miles per day will use zero gasoline. The Volt will be available in late 2010.

The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is great on gas, if you want a mid-size vehicle. The 2010 Ford Fusion also offers a $1,700 federal tax credit if the vehicle is purchased between April 1 through September 30, 2009. Vehicles purchased after September 30, 2009 until the expiration of March 30, 2010, will receive a decreased federal tax credit of $850.00. The Ford Fusion Hybrid is available now. The Fusion Hybrid has an EPA fuel economy of 41 city and 36 highway.

Once you have looked over some of the models that are and will be available, you will need to determine the size of car/truck/suv that will be suitable for you or your family. How much do you want to spend? Does the dealership offer repairs and maintenance?

These are just a few of the many fuel efficient vehicles that will be available in 2010. Not only are cars available, you can now and in the future purchase Hybrid vehicles in truck and suv models. Depending on your geographic location, you may be able to get a value purchase on a Flexfuel vehicle. Research where you can purchase Flexfuel and if this may be an option for you.

Lastly, if the idea of your new vehicle purchase is to also save money, check insurance rates. Most of the vehicles are priced slightly higher than gasoline only vehicles. However, some insurance companies offer discounts for owning a hybrid.
