Most Important Fashion Accessory and Why

My most important fashion accessory that I truly love, and seldom leave the house without wearing, is a large, bold silver ring with a black round pearl type center. This beautiful fashion accessory ring is important to me because I bought it for myself shortly after my husband died of cancer. Prior to that, I rarely bought jewelry. If I wore a ring in addition to my beloved wedding ring, it was small and dainty. For some reason this ring caught my eye and it was love at first site. Surprisingly, even to myself, it fit perfectly. The salesperson thought I should just wear it home. I agreed there was no need to keep it hidden in a box.

This ring was not expensive.

This proves you need not spend the big bucks to have something that people notice and ask you about. It was, however, very unique and I've never seen one like it.

People of all ages and all walks of life have visited with me about that ring. Whether in the grocery store or out with friends, everyone says how nice it looks on my hand and that they, too, love it.

Black and white items fill my closet, so the ring goes great with most anything I wear. I tend to wear chunky type earrings of black and white or just black. Together the pair always look stunning. The ring is truly a very exciting fashion accessory for me.

As I think about this ring, perhaps it is the story of me moving on with my life.

I had to become more strong and outgoing as I continue to lead my life without my deceased husband. I could no longer rely on him or his ideas, suggestions or plans. This ring implies the same characteristics as my new lifestyle. Standing alone, it truly is very strong.

One person asked me if I used the ring as protection. A ring as protection?

I answered that I'd never even given that a thought. Later in the day, sipping coffee from my favorite cup, I thought about that idea. Yes indeed, the ring does give me a lot of protection, but not in the manner of hitting someone in the nose. I look down at it and know I can fight hard enough to move past the latest battles of my life.

I have learned to make good decisions - most of the time, anyway.

I've learned that I have to make an effort to make and keep friends. I've learned that when the car needs a repair I must deal with it and get help. I've learned to ponder over choices, but not too long, and then be satisfied that I made the best decision.

Just the past week I was in a jewelry store. A woman was looking at a large ring for her sister. She asked me to try it on for her to look at because of my big, black ring and how attractive it looked on my hand. The way she held that ring in her hand told me she loved it. She said she just wore tiny rings.

I hoped that woman was actually buying the ring for herself and would enjoy wearing her very own new fashion accessory. Please, for many reasons, buy that special scarf, pair of shoes, purse or whatever is truly you. Then wear it with total enjoyment and expect the best for yourself. What is seen as just a simple fashion accessory, is helping you become the person you strive to be.
