Rudy: The Movie

Jean Bailey Robor
Do you have a dream you haven't yet realized? Do you feel a lack of support from family and friends? Do the odds of you accomplishing your goals seem insurmountable? Have you ever wanted something so much you knew it was your destiny, yet everywhere you turned, you ran into a brick wall? If so, this movie is for you. Not just for football enthusiasts, "Rudy" will encourage you and motivate you to achieve your goals

Released in October of 1993, "Rudy" is based on the life of Daniel E. "Rudy" Ruettiger. Born August 23, 1948 in a steel mill town in Illinois, Rudy had a dream of playing footfall for the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame. Growing up in a family of Notre Dame fans, Rudy still found that, while they had a love for the game, they did not truly believe he could realize his dream. After all, Rudy was lacking in several areas: he didn't have the grades to get into Notre Dame and he was a lot smaller than most football players. However, what he lacked in stature, he made up for in heart. He focused on his dream and never gave up, even when his family and girlfriend did not believe in him.

An inspiring film to the finish, the movie emphasizes that persistence and never losing sight of your dream will ultimately pay off. Recommended for dream-seekers of all ages.
