Out of the three children my middle child's sixth party was the most memorable. He just wanted to hold this party at home with his friends. I have to admit that I wasn't thrilled to have 25+ children running around my house, but home is where he wanted it and that is where it was held. I wanted to make it fun and special and with great thought we had a fireman theme.
We dress our son as a fireman and had a fire truck cake. We took a picture of a fire truck and made it into a poster then we made pin that ladder on the fire truck (the child whom got the ladder closest to the right spot won a prize). Fire hats was used instead of party hats and whistle was used that sounded like sirens.
The best part of the birthday party was when we lit the candles, we sang happy birthday and my son blew out the candles. We had it timed just right as the smoke from the extinguished candles rose the siren from the local fire truck came up our drive. We had a friend that was a volunteer fireman and he drove the truck to our house and the kids was able to climb in it and blow the siren. For a child of that age it was the greatest birthday party and one they all remember.

Post a CommentIf the local fire department isn't keen for such a thing, there's a number of private fire trucks for rent around the U.S. and beyond. I've found a list of 'em here: http://firetrucks4hire.com/other_sites.html
