Most Memorable Performances from the Girls on Season 7 of American Idol

American Idol is back once again with Season 7, and I must say that talent is the best that I have ever seen from any of the other seasons before. The guys belted out their performances on Tuesday night, and while there were many great performances, I must say that the girls outshined the guys by a long shot. Tonight, the girls performed their 60's songs and most of them rocked the house. I have already decided on my favorites to make it into the top 12 of the competition, and after hearing the girls, I believe the guys should be scared.

My favorite girl performance came from Carly Smithson, a 24 year old from San Diego, California. The tone of her voice was beautiful, and she performed like a pro. I could definitely see Carly making it into the top 3 of the competition. She reminded me of a young Celine Dion. The only negative opinion I had of Carly is I am not sure what genre she would fit in as a recording artist in today's recording industry. But, I definitely the girl can sang. I hope the rest of America loved her performance and voted to keep her in the competition like I did.

Syesha Mercado, a 21 year old from Sarasota, Florida, gave another powerhouse performance. The camera loved her and I'm sure most of America also loved her. Her infectious smile and strong vocals will definitely keep Syesha in the competition close to the very end. Her soulful voice and chic style definitely made a lasting impression in my eyes. I could see Syesha as a R&B or even pop superstar if she keeps performing like she has done in the previous auditions and last night.

Ramiele Malubay, a 20 year old from Miramar, Florida, gave a controlled but riveting performance. He voice was so pure and tender. I could tell she had a powerful voice, but she chose to use the softness of her voice during her song. She definitely gave a memorable performance and will be staying around for a while if America chose to vote for her. I believe she could be the quiet, black horse that may sneak up on everyone during the show. I could see Ramiele making it into the top 4 of the competition if she keeps performing as well as she has done in the past.

Another girl that may give everyone a run for their money is Asia'h Epperson, a 19 year old from Joplin, Missouri. She just has a star quality about her. I didn't feel her voice is as strong as some of my other favorites, but the girl knows how to perform. With her strong voice and positive attitude, I could see her making it into the top 12 with no problems.

Now, my last but not least favorite would have to be Alaina Whitaker, a 16 year old from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has a mature and powerful voice for her age, and her performance was very moving. I have no doubt she will make it into the top 12, but I am not sure how much further she will be able to go with all of the other great singers. She maybe another quiet horse that may blossom throughout this season and make it into top 4. I never know for certain how things will go since it is up to America to choose.

If you missed the performances from this week, it is definitely worth checking out next week. The results show will air tomorrow, Thursday, February 21st at 7 p.m. on Fox Network.
