Instead of giving out just the titles of films, here are a few memorable scenes that would allow you to reminisce and want you to see (perhaps again) some of the most romantic movies of Hollywood.
1. Notting Hill - Hugh Grant (William) & Julia Roberts (Anna Scott)
*Anna visits William again after they have encountered problems in their beginning relationship because Anna's popularity as an actress. She tries to win William back, with William being hesitant. She gives him a present and says that fame is not really a real thing and that after all she is just "a girl standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her".
*Anna and William are cozy on a very simple bench in a lovely park. Julia is caressing her pregnant belly and lays her head on William's lap. He holds her hand and holds a book with the other hand. A picture of contented couple.
2. My Best Friend's Wedding - Julia Roberts (Julianne Potter) & Dermot Mulroney (Michael O'Neal)
*Julianne knows that Michael is set to marry a different girl, and feels quite hurt. Julianne and Michael ride a boat on the Chicago River. They start to dance as she fights back her emotions and her wishes to say how she truly feels. They pass by a bridge as Michael says that his fiance says that when you love someone, you have to say it out loud or that "moment passes you by". He starts to sing "Someday...when I'm awfully low and the world is cold" as Julianne fights her tears.
3. Sweet Home Alabama -
Reese Witherspoon (Melanie Smooter) & Patrick Dempsey (Andrew Hennings)
*Andrew invites Melanie for a date to an undisclosed place. They walk through narrow corridor and enters a dark room. The lights turn on and Melanie realizes that they are at Tiffany's. Andrew bends on on knee and asks her to marry him. The staff of the store brings out most of the rings as Andrew tells her to "pick one".
Reese Witherspoon (Melanie Smooter) & Josh Lucas (Jake Perry)
*Melanie is set to marry Andrew, but realizes that it is Jake, her "former" husband she truly loves. She doesn't push through with the wedding and looks for Jake. She finds him out in the rain. She tells him that it is him that she truly wants and says that she wants him "so I can kiss you all I want".
4. 50 First Dates - Drew Barrymore (Lucy Whitmore ) & Adam Sandler (Henry Roth)
*Because of an accident, Lucy loses her short-term memory. She cannot even remember Henry, who is her boyfriend. But she admits to him that somehow, she sees his face all the time. She ushers him to a room full of her art work --every single thing of Henry's face.
*Lucy wakes up with a VHS tape next to her. The video tape is made by Henry, who is now her husband, to allow her recollect very important things about her as she starts her day. After viewing it for the first time, she looks out the window and realizes that they are actually riding a boat and traveling to a beautiful place.
5. The Bridges of Madison County - Meryl Streep (Francesca Johnson) & Clint Eastwood (Robert Kincaid)
*Since married and devoted to her family, Francesca realizes that she cannot run away with Robert. Her family comes back and returns to her routine. On the way to the store, Francesca rides with her husband. In front their car, she sees Robert's vehicle. She clasps her hand on the door handle, seemingly thinking of getting off and running to Robert but could not do it. She weeps silently as Robert's car leaves.
6. The Wedding Singer - Drew Barrymore (Julia) & Adam Sandler (Robbie)
*Julia rides the plane with her fiance to get married in Las Vegas. Without her knowing it, Robbie takes the same flight to follow her. With the help of Billy Idol, the other passengers and crew, Robbie proposes to her through the song "I Wanna Grow Old With You".
7. Love Actually - Keira Knightly (Juliet) & Andrew Lincoln (Mark)
*Juliet is married to Mark's best friend, but Mark has learned to love Juliet from afar. On Christmas, Mark appears on Juliet's doorsteps and pretends to be a carol singer. He plays a Christmas carol on the boom box and shows Juliet huge cardboards that said what he really felt. His message: "...But for now, let me say without hope or agenda, just because it's Christmas and at Christmas you tell the truth. To me you are perfect and my wasted heart will love you until you look like this" and shows a scary picture. He waves goodbye and Juliet runs after him to grant him one sweet kiss.
8. Ghost - Demi Moore (Molly) & Patrick Swayze (Sam), Whoopi Goldberg (Oda Mae)
*Molly enjoys her pottery and Sam joins her. Their hands get dirty with soft clay and they become intimate.
*They finally resolve who killed Sam. A special light then shines inside the room and Molly gets to "see" Sam. For the last time, they say goodbye. with the instrumental version of "Unchained Melody" on the background.
9. Titanic - Kate Winslet (Rose Bukater) & Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson)
*Because of the impending danger of the Titanic to sink, they finally find a boat for Rose. She would join other ladies and children to safety. She gets on it and it is slowly lowered. She doesn't remove her eyes from Jack and suddenly struggles to get on Titanic again. She lands on a different floor of the huge ship while Jack is on another. So they ran to meet up with each other. She says she simply couldn't leave him and reminds him of his own line: "I jump, you jump".
10. Serendipity- Kate Beckinsale (Sara Thomas) & John Cusack (Jonathan Trager)
*Jonathan gets a book (Life in Times of Cholera) from her fiance. This is the same book where Sara wrote her phone number on the first time that they met. On her end, Sara gets back the $5 bill on which Jonathan wrote his phone number.
*Johnathan lays down in the middle of the skating rink and watches the flurries. Sara comes and throws the black cashmere glove to Jonathan, a sign that they finally concede to fate and that they are really meant for each other.
