The Social Security Administration has released their list of the Most Popular Baby Names in the United States for 2070. Every year, sometimes around Mother's Day, the Social Security Administration releases the lists which show baby name trends.
These baby name trends can be used by parents looking for baby names. The lists can also help parents choose baby names that are not the most popular.
Recent baby name trends have included a return to traditional turn of the century names, naming babies after cities, and naming babies after fruit.
"There are two repeat performers for 2070," said Commissioner Bernhurt. "Our data is compiled from applications for Social Security card applications for all babies that were born in the last year."
The Commissioner also acknowledged that the current list shows how much the Internet has affected every aspect of our daily lives, including how we name our children, and spell their names.
"This year, K8 and &y beat out Emily and Jacob," the Commissioner said. "An increase in the use of symbols has been the trend for the last couple of years. Never has it been more prominent than this year."

Post a CommentExcellent article. Scary though, there are so many spellings these days, and with texting there is a whole new language, and a whole new reason for teenagers not knowlign how to spell.
Made me shake my head...clever.
When I first saw this, I thought the headline date was a variant of AC's 1969 glitch, then I saw that your future baby's name list was humor.
Very clever. Great job!
Wow! I didn't even notice the 2070...Just automatically saw it as 2007, I guess! I was actually shaking my head and getting a bit peeved, thinking, "Who in their right minds are naming their children like this?" You got me, Pam...that deserves a 5 star. Great job!
Very clever. I don't think I'm very well-prepared for the future--translating took way too long for me!
Funny. I thought 2070 was a typo at first-- clever.
You might be more right than you think!
Too funny!
