Coral - Mixed with blush pink, light yellow and greens, your wedding will have a romantic, antique garden flair. It can also be paired with off-white or a yellow and green to create a bright, sunny affair. There is no end to flowers that can compliment this color, especially gerber daisies and lilies.
Yellow - From bright shades of lemons to a more muted pastel, this sunny color is definitely an "it" color to have this season. This color is bright and sunny, sure to set a joyful mood for your special day. This color can be mixed with almost any other color you choose. A soft yellow mixed with a grey is a sophisticated vintage pair. Yellow flowers are not in short supply-think daffodils, orchids and calla lilies or use lemons to accent your decor.
Orange - Another citrus-inspired color, this color is hot in hues ranging from a bright mango to a muted melon color. This festive color can be mixed with light blue, grey, pinks, greens or yellows. Orange and sky blue is the color theme for one of the many weddings I will be attending this Summer.
Purple - This shade has reigned as the most popular color this year and will continue to have a presence in Spring weddings this year. All shades are in, matching flowers such as dahlias, orchids and fragrant freesia. Mix this color with a bright green color for a smooth contrast or mix several shades with a pop of fuschia for a complimentary color scheme.
Blue - Set a peaceful, beach-inspired tone to your wedding by choosing blues. Navy and sky blue make excellent accent colors. Turquoise has been chosen as the 2010 Pantone color of the year. A natural color that is timeless, can be mixed with apple red for a bold statement or off-white to a grey to maintain a calm feeling. Hydrangeas and poppies are flowers of choice. Yellow is a great color to include to contrast blues.
Green - Green is the color mother-nature has chosen as her backdrop, but can take front-stage at your special event. Mint is a hot color this Spring, pair with a deep shade of eggplant for a one-of-a-kind decor. Shades of green are found all through plant life, such as ferns, hydrangeas, orchids and even artichokes! Green, mixed with purple freesia was the color of choice for my own special day.
While choosing your colors may be a little intimidating, think of things such as flowers, fruit, or the beach that you are naturally drawn to or give you happiness. This will help you choose colors that will represent your vision for your special day.
