It's so International

Mr. New Material
When it comes to the brightest and freshest produce, the state of Georgia is well known for their trademark Georgia Peaches. While the peaches are at the top of the list, Georgia also has tons of other fresh produce to put on display and offer. In the city of Atlanta, there are a lot of popular Farmers Markets that enable the state of Georgia to show off their best fruits and vegetables among other things. Below I have listed the most popular Farmers Markets in Atlanta Georgia.

Buford Highway Farmers Market: When going to the Buford Highway Farmers Market, make sure you bring either a credit card or tons of spare cash. Not to say that the produce at this Farmers Market is expensive, you just may see tons of items you wish to spend your money on. Before you know it you will have spent all of your money before even reaching the end of the market. This market has a very ethnic feel to it by having lots of Chinese, Japanese and Korean influenced foods and food stations. Be sure to sample everything you wish to try or everything that looks appealing to you for free as the vendors are constantly passing out samples. Along with having a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, they also have a wide range of dried fruits and fresh seafood. You will know the seafood is fresh since most of it is still alive. While the market opens at 8 am, you will want to get there before 10am at the latest due to the crazy traffic that will be in the parking lot.

Location: 5600 Buford Hwy, Atlanta GA Hours: Saturdays 8am-1pm

Peachtree Road Farmers Market: The Peachtree Road Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8am-12pm. Most of the vendors at Peachtree are local farmers located within 20 miles of the area. Stock up on all of the fresh lettuce mixtures, fruit bowls along with the satisfying vegetable packs. The great thing about Peachtree is that there will be no hassle with parking. From the time the market opens till the time it closes, the parking issues will be minimal at the most. This is great for those looking to get in the store and out with the quickness. The local farmers come to this market stocked with fresh watermelon, herbs and spices as well as homemade desserts and salsa. Another great thing about this Farmers Market is that almost anyone can sell their craft or produce, try one of the cookie or lemonade stands ran by children.

Location: 2744 Peachtree rd., Atlanta GA Hours: Sundays 8am-12pm

Morningside Farmers Market: If you're looking for one of the most popular Farmers Markets in the Atlanta area, you have to attend the Morningside Farmers Market between the hours of 8am-1pm on Sundays. Before going to the market, know ahead of time that you would be better off parking in the residential area than the parking lot, it gets full fast. Once it's full, it's a major hassle to get both in and out of the lot. The Morningside market is smaller compared to the other markets listed above, however; they are not to be outdone! They have the best and freshest fruits and vegetables to offer their customers. Although the price may be a bit pricey, it's fully worth it in the end, just wait until you get your produce home, you'll see exactly what I mean. Along with organic breads and other vendors that offer handmade soaps, the Morningside Farmers Market hold chef demonstrations every Sunday at 9am, be there or be square!

Location: 1393 N Highland ave., Atlanta GA Hours: Saturdays 8:30am-11am
