Most Popular Wedding Dates for Fall 2008

People have gotten engaged is so many unique ways including scuba diving, dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, or while riding down a water slide. But have you ever given any thought to the date people pick as their wedding day? For most it's just a matter of when the reception hall has availability. For me husband and I, we were most concerned about getting married during the fall because during that time in New Jersey, the trees are a kaliedescope of colors - rustic orange, crimson red, sunburst yellow. They are absolutely gorgeous. For others though, the date may be tied to significant event in their lives such as honoring great grand mom Mary and her anniversary.

For you brides getting married in fall 2008, here are a fun dates to consider depending on your interests.

September 6th or 7th

Are you Star Trek geek? Come on - admit it. You and your hubby-to-be love the show and constantly recite "Live Long and Prosper." Choose either September 6th or 7th as your wedding date and you can add that line to your wedding vows in honor of the show's premier on September 8, 1966. It's quite an appropriate line for a wedding don't you think? You could really do it all up if you wanted to with subtle decorations, have the groom in a Star Trek outfit (although I don't recommend it!), and greet your guests with a Valcun salute. And when you have enter the reception and are announced as Mr. and Mrs.....have Star Trek playing. Hey, for my wedding we used music from Star Wars and everyone was impressed. Why not? It's beautiful orchestra music, it just makes it funny because we associate it with the movie.

October 25th

Although I did agree with it, from what I understand, Halloween is the 2nd most decorated holiday after Christmas. That must mean that there are a ton of you out there who are in love with Halloween. Why not have a Halloween themed wedding then? The costumes would be easy enough - go as a bride and groom! Although make sure you realize you really will be husband and wife when the day is over. Have tons of candy everyone and say "trick-or-treat" when you walk around greeting your guests and gathering your cards. Just prepare for smarty pants family members who will ask for a trick and actually expect one.
