Located on the west side of Oak Island, Blue Water Motel and Marina offers free Internet access, large smoke-free rooms and beach views. Other amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, gift shop, fishing access from the bulkhead and outdoor recreational facilities. The Blue Water Motel and Marina has a no pet policy. Parking is free and large enough for large vehicles. The Blue Water Motel and Marina is within walking distance to the beach and local shops. Dining includes the Fish House restaurant specializing in fresh seafood.
The marina offers guests of the Blue Water Motel and Marina an opportunity to rent kayaks, jet skis, paddle boats and fishing equipment. Charter boats are available on an hourly basis. Sunset cruises run daily May through September.

Locally owned and operated, the Ocean Crest Motel provides beach-front accommodations to travelers. The Ocean Crest Motel offers weekly and nightly packages for travelers depending on the season. Amenities include cable televisions in every room, outdoor swimming pool, in-room refrigerator, and Internet access. The Ocean Crest Motel has a not pet policy, but local pet boarding is available. Parking is free at the Ocean Crest Motel, but trailers and recreational vehicles are not permitted. Staying at the Ocean Crest Motel requires guests to be a minimum age of 25 or accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Rates, as of 2011, are based upon two adults and children under the age of 10 stay free. Special needs guests will need to call ahead for appropriate accommodations. Guests are encouraged to read the rental agreement prior to booking. Local attractions include the Oak Island Light House and Historic Fort Caswell.
