A mother will nurture
Protect, teach and preach
To help make you stronger
Not timid or meek.
Protect, teach and preach
To help make you stronger
Not timid or meek.
She will put aside her own
Personal wants, hopes and dreams
To give her children the world
Or so it seems.
She might lose herself along the way
In the bigger role she must play
To raise her children to be bigger and bold
And not be knocked out, in a world so cold.
Once they have grown
And conquered their dreams
She sits lonely and old
Muffling her silent screams.
