Mother Earth, What Have We Done to You?

DEBI ANDERSON
I mourn for my Mother Earth., I pray that my Father in the Heavens will intervene and heal her sacred womb. Our mothers body once so plentiful, is now becoming a tomb.

She is hemorrhaging in the Gulf of Mexico. What have we done? Do we not appreciate her rainbow smile, or her bright shining sun?

Why have we allowed mankind to destroy a woman so beautiful? Why are we not caring?
Our desire for oil, fancy cars, high powered jets, the luxurious lifestyle has left our Mother barren.

It has taken away her vitamins, her ability to produce, her energy, and now possibly her life.
Doesn't man kind feel the least bit guilty for this disastrous strife?

As Mother Earth continues to be hurt by mankind; we kill our selves but yet we don't see.
The destruction of our mother, is the destruction of you and me.

Father GOD and Mother Earth are here for US, to protect US, to care for US, and to love US. Yet time and time again look what we are doing to them. Learning to love and appreciate them is a must.

We cut down trees, yet we don't want to plant a replacement. We destroy woodlands, we destroy recreational parks and lakes and build resorts and condominiums. All the while dooming ourselves in the end.

We litter, throwing our garbage at our mother, not caring that we are dirtying her beautiful body. Don't you see her cry, as the floods rise? Don't you see her tremble, as the earth shakes? Don't you see her stress as her insides erupt into volcanoes?

A beautiful, colorful mother Earth unlike anything else in the world. So beautiful, yet so overlooked and unappreciated.. Why are we so blind to what is right, why is goodness so underrated?

We demand her resources, and place great value on her minerals,.putting a huge strain on Mother Earth.
never really fully understanding what our beautiful mother is really worth.

There may be no limit to the damage we can do our planet, but there is also no limit to the good we can do for our planet.

As far as I'm concerned, the Earth is only wounded. It's up to us to heal her wounds, and shield her from further hurt and doom.
