Mother's Day Gift Ideas for Grandmother

Ramona Taylor
Someone once said, once a child is born so is a grandmother. And, they were right. Grandmother are those patient souls who think that hugs and smiles can cure all ills and that cookies are one of the basic food groups. For all her caring and support, Mother's Day should be special for her also. Here are some ideas for great gifts for the Queen Mother in your life.

Be a Traditionalist

Flowers make you smile. And, so on mother's day most services will deliver a variety of arrangements. For those living far away from their Big Mama, NaNa or Gran, you have use this option. For those living closer, you can make a personalized arrangement and take it over to grandma's. The flowers and the visit will be special to her.

Spread the Good Word

Since Mother's Day is a Sunday, many Christian churches have Sunday services geared toward celebrating Mother's Day. As part of the service, you can offer wonderful stories or words about your grandmother. In preparation, take time to go shopping and go to the service dressed like twins.

Quality Time

Some grandmothers like to dance. Some like the slots! Some like to sing. Some like to shop. Whatever your grandmother's favorite activity, take Mother's Day to share that activity with her. Map out a fun filled day of just being together cooking, walking, driving, sewing, or just gardening. It's a time to talk and remember and create many wonderful things and memories. Just be mindful that some grandmothers have lots of energy and you may need a nap afterwards.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Grandmothers are a special part of your life and you may have some very treasured memories of your time together. Let her know those special times which may have been your first time away from home or your first trip to the zoo. Recreate those moments and add a special twist. You'll realize how young you both feel after a few laughs.

While we should let our mothers know what they mean to us each day, Mother's Day seems to be that special time for us to truly expression our love and appreciation. Don't forget to give your mother lots of hugs and kisses! And, if you get the chance, make each Mother's Day special.

Meals and Wheels

On Mother's Day, your grandmother is bigger than life. She's your special superstar! So, treat her like one. On Mother's Day have your grandmother escorted around in style. Hire a stretch limousine, with all the amenities, to take her out for lunch or dinner and a show. Invite her best friends or other close relatives. This will certainly be a day she will always remember!
A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words

Grandmothers love pictures. Most have their kids, old and new, grandkids and even great grandkids all over tables, mantles and walls. As a special treat, take photos that grandmother would love and have them made into a cup, mug or other keepsake. You can also make her a digital photo album or Powerpoint slide show that she can play herself.
For the Groovy and Hip Grandmas

For those grandmas that are more diva than divine, you can opt for more trendy gifts. You can shop online or in stores for anything from purses, designer bags, cool eyeglass frames, or other interesting and unique gifts.

Mother's Day is just as much grandmother's day as well. You can make new memories or recall old ones on this day. Whatever you do, Grandma is surely going to love that fact that you remember her on such a special day.
