Gift Ideas for Mom

Are you looking for a special gift or way to treat Mom on Mother's Day. Many might think that they have to spend money on a very expensive gift and that would make mom happy. Ask any Mom and her response is usually that she would prefer something that the kids made themselves rather than something that is expensive or lavish. So take a look at the following kid friendly ideas for Mother's Day.

Mother's Day Coupon Book - This is an idea that has been around for some time. And it is actually a very good idea for a Mother's Day gift. Kids make a coupon book on the computer listing chores they are going to do throughout the year. And they present the coupon book to their Mom on Mother's Day. They might list items like cleaning the garage, cleaning the yard, washing dishes, baby sitting a younger sibling. Or something similar.

Mother's Day Picnic - Kids and Dad get together and treat Mom to a special picnic meal at a local park or even in the backyard. Clean out the space where the picnic is to take place. Bring out the grill. Grill a few hamburgers, hot-dogs. Add a salad, and party snacks. And serve lemonade, tea, other favorite drinks. And after the meal present Mom with a bouquet of flowers collected from the garden.

Dinner at Home - Picnics might be out of the question for some because in many regions across the United States there still is frost in the air. So, kids and Dad might get together and prepare Mom's favorite meal. Serve on a nice tablecloth with good dishes and silverware.

Breakfast in Bed - Start the day off right by serving Mom breakfast in bed. Prepare something like French Toast with syrup, eggs, juice. Or an easy to make breakfast treat like bagels and cream cheese.

Flowers - Kids might enjoy gathering flowers from the yard. Get together with the kids and arrange the flowers into an attractive bouquet. Place in a vase and present to Mom on Mother's Day.

Hand Made Greeting Cards - Kids could take a few sheets of construction paper, fold in half and write a nice greeting on the outside like "To Mom." On the inside a simple "Happy Mother's Day." And decorate the card with hand drawn flowers.
