Mother's Day Gifts for a NEW Mom!

Baby Needs Help with Gift Buying!

Debra Cornelius
Mother's Day is just around the corner and this year there is a brand new mom in the family!

What would baby give the new mom if she could?

How about ;

1. A Good night's sleep! ...... Dad, you or another family member can help with this one. Find a baby sitter and wisk mommy away for a long weekend, hang the do not disturb sign and let mommy sleep the weekend away if she wants to! Mommy can't leave such a sweet little baby all weekend? Then Dad you take the night shift or get grandma in for the weekend and let someone else besides mommy sleep near the baby monitor.

2. Bubble Bath, candles, a CD of mommy's favorite music and an 'Occupied' sign to hang on the bathroom door! Daddy is 'on duty' at least until mommy comes out all wrinkled from soaking so long.

3. Chocolate anything. All mommies love chocolate, maybe even a chocolate milk bath and chocolates to nibble while she rocks baby to sleep.

4. Scrapebook materials and an IOU to watch baby and give mommy time to organize all those 'first' baby pictures. After all 300 pictures before this darling sweetie even came home from the hospital means LOTs of pictures to organize real quick!

5. A warm snuggly robe that mommy and baby can cuddle into on those nights spent in the rocking chair. (see # 1 !)

6. Baby bubbles--- The kind that only tiny new babies get away with blowing on Mommy's cheek when she holds her close and wispers sweet dreams. Best thing Dad, baby can do this all by herself and its FREE!

7. A journal so she can keep record of all baby's important firsts like the first time baby sleeps all night, or says ma-ma or da-da!

8. New clothes so she can quit wearing the shirt that says "BABY" on it with that big arrow. (Baby is not under the shirt any more!)

9. Dr. Spock's baby books or maybe something newer like Dr. Phil?

10. Last but not least, don't forget breakfast in bed and a nice card.
Dad this means you have to get up before baby wakes mommy up first.
With a little help, a new baby can make a new mommy's Mother's Day extra special.
