Mother's Day Poem

A Tribute to My Mom

K. Anderson
A Mother's Day Poem

It all starts with the birds and the bees

Next thing you know you have a kid climbing up trees

You raise her up not to be a tease

Then you wave goodbye as for the world she leaves

I know my childhood went by too fast for you

But at least every day together brought something new

Now I am off, and I have a slight clue

That these days will bring happiness, you know it's true

You've been right beside me through the thick and thin

You've watched me lose, and you've seen me win

When I got disappointed, you'd lift up my chin

And say hold your head high, child, don't ever give in

I'll love you forever and I'll thank you for always

Because it is you who deserves all of the praise

You taught me not to give up my ways

You said that just being me was the best anyways

Well Mom, today is your day, so just go with the flow

Know that you have suceeded and now you can let go

It's your turn to boast and it's my chance to show

The world what pride in you I have to bestow
