Mother's Day Poem: Mourning, Mother's Strength Shines like the Sun

Lori Lane
Mother's Day marks the celebration of honoring a mother. This Mother's Day poem reflects personal experiences within this year of mourning, dedicated to my own mother.

Mother I'm sorry father died, it's God's plan.
Mother I'm sorry your daughter's dead, it's God's plan.
Mother I'm sorry they can't find him in the mine.
Mother, we'll be alright.

Mother I'm sorry your aunt has passed, it's God's plan.
Mother I'm sorry if you cry, but it's God's plan.
Mother I'm sorry I have to tell you the truth.
Whatever comes next, it's God's path for you.

Mother I love the air we breathe.
Remembering faces that no longer remain.
Tough year for gentle souls.
Memories mirror past and present frames.

Mother I'm sorry there's just one life, it's God's plan.
Mother I'm sorry let's walk a while, it's God's plan.
Mother we may be the only ones left.
Mother, God's plan is just a guess.

Mother did you know I love you so?
Mother, God's plan evolves our growth.
Mother did you notice the way tomorrow comes?
Mother, your strength shines like the sun.
