Mother's Day poems
are written with love
flowery verses and
praise from above
are written with love
flowery verses and
praise from above
with gratitude and adoration
my mother's day rant
says things in my heart
things I just can't
A mother's day past
not too far from here
witnessed my grandma
pushed along on a bier
mother's day cards
mother's day flowers
mother's day now
means nothing like ours
Again dearest grandma,
farewell and sleep tight
my mother's day poem
must end in goodbye

This is quite artful . . . . and somewhat astonishing . . . in its honesty. Thank you for the reminder that even sentimental holidays may be bittersweet.
