Mother's Day Poems Are a Tribute to You

S. A. Knight
My family had a mother who always knew
She always knew the things to do
She cooked and cleaned
She sewed she washed

She always knew the things to do
Yes Mom -Mother's Day Poems are a tribute to you

Her love took many shapes and forms
Red beans and rice and puddings and cakes
Donuts and rolls and whatever it takes

She always knew the things to do
Yes Mom -Mother's Day Poems are a tribute to you

As my six sisters and brothers grew
My mother devoted her life to you
She never required praise or fame
She never took the time to complain
She worried and cried and gave her all
No sacrifice too large or too small

She always knew the things to do
Yes Mom -Mother's Day Poems are a tribute to you

The grandchildren were born one by one
They discovered a mother, her work never done
She cooked and she cleaned for those little ones too

She always knew the things to do
Yes Mom -Mother's Day Poems are a tribute to you

As she grew older and Alzheimer's came
She recognized them all by name
She smiled to the end and never gave up

She always knew the things to do
Yes Mom -Mother's Day Poems are a tribute to you

Her last days were peaceful as she went to sleep
One day she left for her just reward
Eternal peace with our Loving God
Don't fret and worry because now she's at rest
A loving mother who was the very best

She always knew the things to do
Yes Mom -Mother's Day Poems are a tribute to you
