A Mother's Day Poem For My Mother
You are...
The woman who still baby-sits the kids in the neighborhood for free
And makes them the tastiest cupcakes and cookies
You are...
Late-night and last minute runs to the supermarket
And new recipes with exotic ingredients
You are...
The lady who spends her last dollar on a gift for someone else
And cooks them dinner, too!
You are...
The Designer Cake Lady
And Easter Pizza & Cookie Making Queen!
You are...
A lover of songbirds
And purple irises
You are...
Lyndhurst and Driftwood Campground
And Sea Isle City in its pristine prime
You are...
Sea shore trips and day shopping excursions
And driving until you run out of gas
You are...
The mother who was both PTA President
And President & Founder of the Lyndhurst Band Association
You are...
The woman who always gave any kid who needed a ride to school in her beat-up station wagon
And never turned anyone away because of lack of room
You are...
The woman who is fighting diabetes with diet and discipline
And who has her weight under control
You are...
The woman who let us adopt strays as our own
And welcomed them into our home
You are...
The woman who made Halloween costumes for your friend's grandchildren
And pulled all-nighters to see them to fruition on time!
You are...
A beloved daughter, wife, mother, mother in-law, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, and community member
Who is the happiest woman I know
You are...
The daughter who cared for her father when he was sick,
Who made sure he had his medicine and three meals a day
You are...
The woman who lost her husband on their first real vacation in years
Who crusades on for the sake of her family and friends
You are...
The loyal widow who religiously visits her husband's tomb,
And prays for his soul every night
You are...
Grieving with a broken heart yet still so positive
With so much life inside of you
You are...
All these things and so much more
And I love you for being you.

"Mother...You Bless My Life"
A Mother's Day Poem For My Mother
You bless my life
And shield me from strife
You stop my tears
And ease my fears
You've given me curves!
And soothed my nerves
For all that you do,
I am grateful to you
I adore your kind face
And admire your gentle grace
I thank you on this Mother's Day
For being my radiant ray
Of illuminating sunlight--
With character that does what's right
Your kindness towards others
Defines you as a mother
The woman who I am now today
Is a result of your positive ways
I learned from you the true reason why
Unconditional love will never die
I wish you many healthy, happy years more
I love you, my dear sweet mother, to the core!

When composing acrostic poems/tributes, always make sure that you use words that actually describe the person who you are creating the piece for. Take the time to think about who the person really is and what the person is passionate about. Vertically write the person's name down a sheet of paper; then, find words that begin with the letter on each line.
