1) Meditation. This does not mean sitting on a mountaintop chanting all day. Past a certain age, who could do a lotus position anyway? Not to say chanting in a lotus position would not be beneficial. This is more about learning to relax. Breathing techniques can help in this a great deal. You have probably heard the advice "Take a deep breath and count to ten." Don't knock it until you try it. Sending fresh oxygen to your body is vital to energizing all of your cells. Meditating provides benefits other than relaxation. It can help lower anxiety, lessen tension in your muscles and give you a boost of self awareness. The primary focus is to get rid of stress so that you can accomplish more of your goals.
2) Exercising. Yes, the "E" word. Whatever you can do to get your body moving at least two to three times a week will only be of benefit to you. You will sleep better, feel better mentally, and your body will be stronger. Strong people live longer. If you are practicing healthy habits, have more energy and feel good, it is certainly easier to find your motivation and stay motivated to get things done. Using physical activity to keep your body energized gives you the fuel you need to for all those projects you have yet to do.
3) Balanced Diet. You have to eat right. Again with the good energy. You need the energy to exercise and to have a better life overall. Eating a balanced diet means reduced risks for many diseases. Taking off some weight will reduce the risks of even more disorders.
If you will do these simple things and integrate these habits into your life, you will be much better equipped to take on the challenges life brings your way. More importantly, you will be focused and MOTIVATED!
