Let them learn
The employees you hire will never be perfect and they won't learn to do things your way unless you let them learn. There are some companies that impose punishments for wrong doings. These come in the form of deductions in salary for being late or for not following certain rules like taking breaks at certain times. This is not the right way to do it. Let your employees gain the knowledge of your system over time. They should be given the room to satisfy their own curiosities as well. If they are not given the opportunity to apply themselves the way that they think is best, then the company will also not get the best out of them.
Give them a chance to work
Most employees will work on something that they are assigned to do. No more and no less. This is because most companies also suppress the creative side of some of their employees. By giving employees the chance to create projects or to work on some projects that were set aside in the past, your company gains the chance at a new perspective of its product and perhaps a possible new department that will be profitable. Give your employees the chance to work on things on their free time so that they can further improve their skills with the assignments you give them. Who knows? The next best idea just might come from one of your employees.
Give them more than they need
There is no sense in providing just enough for an employee to succeed in a project. A company needs to be able to provide more than enough supplies and materials for an employee to complete a project in the best way possible. By not giving more than enough to your employees, you will end up with a product that is not much to look at either. At the same time, the employee's frustrations will build up so much that he or she will not enjoy working at your company over time.
Leave them alone, but not all of the time
Watching your employees work for 24 hours a day will not give them any comfort whatsoever. They will end up being scared to make mistakes. And because of this fear chances are that they will make mistakes. So give your employees some privacy. You can monitor their progress once in a while but do not get involved in a project that you entrusted to them in the first place. You should also not worry too much about the end product. After all, you did hire them for their skills so trust that they will use them.
You should treat your employees the way that you treat those who are close to you. The employee is your friend and if motivated properly, you will experience a loyalty to your company like no other. Do not suppress their freedom just for a vulgar display of power. Let your company grow and move forward by allowing your employees to grow with it.
