Motorola Clutch +i475

A Boost Mobile Phone with Walkie-Talkie Functionality

What it Does

The Motorola Clutch +i475 is a smartphone that can hang with the best of them. It has Boost Mobile's Walkie-Talkie technology, which is a digital radio service which lets you communicate instantly with people by pressing a single button. Use it to connect with friends and family who have Boost Mobile and Nextel Direct Connect service. Besides being able to talk to people instantly, you can also share contacts and images by pushing the same button. Walkie-Talkie technology can be useful for the whole family. Kids can get in touch with their friends instantly and share pictures at the push of a button. Parents can have instant contact with their kids to keep tabs on them, especially when they get into the raucous teenage years.

The 2" 176x220 pixels display provides high resolution images of the menu, browsing, and images. Left and right soft keys provide simple, comfortable navigation options. A 2.5mm headset jack lets you plug in your favorite headset with microphone so you can talk hands-free in your car or on the run. Volume buttons give you simple controls of the volume of incoming and outgoing calls, videos that you're watching, or music that you're playing. There is a speakerphone if you don't feel like plugging in a headset, and there is also a voice recognition feature to place calls without having to navigate the address book. As for battery life, on a full charge you can get roughly 3-4.5 hours of talk time, and 4.16 days of standby time. It weighs 3.53 ounces, so both the battery life and the weight are above average for a smartphone. It is GPS enabled so you can pay for GPS services if that's something you'd want. Lastly, it has a micro USB so connecting to the computer is as simple as procuring a Micro USB cord.

The Clutch +i475 also comes with a full Qwerty keyboard that makes typing easier. Separated keys and a staggered layout is comfortable and efficient, and helps keep the keyboard from feeling too cluttered and hard to use. Not all of us have tiny fingers, and a tiny keyboard can be extremely difficult to use. In general, the compact, modern design of the phone fits well in your hand and in your pocket. You get a lot out of this phone, but it doesn't require a backpack to carry it around in

It also has a VGA camera that lets you take quality photos and videos easily. It has zooming functionality as well, so you can capture images and videos exactly how you want to. Share them quickly using the Multi-media Messaging Service (MMS). What is Multi-media Messaging Service? MMS is just like Instant Messaging services you may have used in the past. It gives you a choice of two text input styles. Alpha mode lets you enter words one letter at a time. Word Text tries to predict what you are trying to say, and will give you words to choose from. Try them both and see which one fits your style. MMS also uses a threaded messaging system which keeps text messaging conversations together IM-style. Don't worry about having to open every single text message, instead the whole conversation is kept together so you can talk in a more natural way with your friends and family. MMS supports e-mail and IM services other than those provided by Motorola or your service provider, so if you want to connect your Gmail account to your phone, no problem.

A smartphone wouldn't be... well, smart, if it didn't have access to a web browser. Access the web wirelessly and stay productive on the go. Browsing is quickly accessible on the menu of the phone so you don't have to delve deep into different menu's and tabs to find it.

Cost

It is $88.99 on Amazon, but cell phones can be found on random websites for much less. Do enough research and you'll find a steal of a deal. The price will also vary based on whether you sign up for a contract or not.

As for data plans, there is Boost Mobile's Monthly Unlimited Plan which is $50/month. This plan gives you unlimited 411 calls, Instant Messaging and e-mail, and unlimited nationwide talk, text and web. They also offer a program called Shrinkage, which can reduce your payment to $35/month if you pay on time consistently.
