Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset Review

I have to be honest and say that I was not sure about buying the Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset when it first came out. I ended up getting a good deal on one and became a very satisfied owner until I accidentally put the headset through the wash which obviously ruined it. I was impressed by several different aspects of the H500 and did not have very many significant complaints.

The sound quality and volume level of the H500 was very appealing. I never had any trouble hearing anyone I was talking to with it. I often used it in busy, noisy areas and could normally hear the person on the other end clearly. I also used it while walking in windy conditions where hearing on a regular handset is often difficult and could still hear the person I was talking to decently well. When I first got it I asked a few of the people I talked to how well they could hear me and they said they could hear me loudly and clearly. My one complaint with the volume is that it is difficult to adjust on the headset itself. The volume buttons are small and even after reading the instructions several times I could not get the volume to adjust properly.

The H500 easily connected to my Motorola Razr V3. It always connected in a few seconds and stayed connected until I manually disconnected it or turned it off. The connection distance was good enough that I could leave my handset anywhere in my house and walk around freely talking on my headset. My only complaint with the connection is that sometimes when it was in my pocket it would connect on its own (I'm sure the button was accidentally pushed while in my pocket) and then I would not hear incoming calls or when they came in the button would get pushed and the caller would end up talking to my pocket without me knowing.

The voice dialing feature on the H500 worked alright but not perfect. I often had to repeat a name several times before it was able to identify what I was saying and call that person. I also noticed that I had to speak rather loudly for the headset to figure out what name I was saying.

The headset fit well on my ear and never came loose or fell off except once when I tried running with it. At one point the ear hook chipped and would not stay on properly but I called Motorola and they sent me three new ones free of charge within a few days.

The few complaints that I had were that it sometimes connected on its own, the hear hook chipped at one point, the volume was hard to adjust, having to say the name more than once on voice dialing, and also that the back especially around the speaker seemed to gather a lot of dust. None of these were significant enough to make me want a new headset or to hate using it.

So if you like good sound quality, good connection, decent voice dialing and do not mind a few of the inconveniences I mentioned then I would certainly recommend the Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset. For more information you can visit here.
