Okay, so you buy a lot of electronics after doing your thorough studying of what you want and what you need while cross referencing that with price, right? No? You enjoy it more to not have a clue what is available to you until you get to your prospective electronics retailer and spend a lot of money on very little? While this may work for you, maybe you should try putting a little effort into your next cell phone purchase and getting a great product.

There are a great number of features available to you depending on what it is that you want or need out of your cell phone, but the key is knowing the terms before leaving the house. Know what you are looking for and get what you need to make it through whatever life throws at you. As a friendly bit of help and assistance, here is a brief description of two cell phone giants, Motorola and Nextel.

Motorola had humble beginnings as a developer of the battery eliminator (I don't know what it is either) under the name of Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. You would have absolutely know idea that they were once an adorable little corporation with a lot of heart now, the name Motorola is synonymous with law enforcement and other emergency personal because of its ingenuity and reliability in the market.

In addition to the law enforcement, and making cable modems, the name Motorola has skyrocketed in popularity since the release of the Moto Razr that took the cellular world by storm a few years ago. With this type of popularity combined with the familiar commercial feel of that famous "beep beep" you know that you are in good shape when you purchase a phone from Motorola.

Nextel has become a major player in the cellular world because of both its features in mobile phones and partnership with Sprint, a major carrier for cell phones nationwide. With teaming with Sprint, Nextel has the ability to say that their phones are part of the first ever completely fiber-optic network (the Pin Drop) to aid in selling the reliability of the signal.

What Nextel tends to do better than just about everybody else is the "walkie-talkie" or speakerphone products that allow you instant communications with other Nextel customers. Having that connection may be annoying at times, but don't forget that it could be a life saver in certain types of work conditions.
