Cell Phones are the latest fashion accessory. Every one from teen-agers to senior citizens have one, and what type cell-phone you carry can make a statement about you and your lifestyle. With the price of cell phones being greatly discounted with contracts, its important to find one that you choose one that you will be happy with for a year to two years.

Two of the most popular cell phones on the market are the Motorola RAZR V3m and LG Chocolate. There are many things to consider when purchasing a new phone. Some important things to consider are the price, appearance, and features.

According to Verizonwireless.com, the Motorola RAZR V 3m's non-contract price is 219.99. The LG chocolate non contract price runs $299.99. It is important to mention that you can purchase these either cheaper through monitoring for sales and discounts.

Both phones look extremely sleek and modern. The Motorola RAZR V3m is a slim flip-phone. Its dimensions are actually comparable to that of a pack of gum ((3.9 by 2.1 by 0.6 inches). The internal screen is large but not very elaborate with a 65,000-color output. It has a Anodized Aluminum Case and comes in fire, gray, and pink. The LG chocolate has a sharply rectangular form factor that resembles a candy bar. It has a large screen that is two inches diagonally and supports 11 lines of text and 262,000 color output, Its display is 320x240 pixels and shows great colors and graphics. It has an unique slider form. Its dimensions are average (3.8 by 1.58 by 0.69 inches; 3.5 ounces). Small enough to fit in any pocket but not as thin as the Motorola RAZR. The LG features a really cool touch wheel. The LG chocolate is almost too touch sensitive. I have accidentally dialed people with a wrong touch. Also a minor problem, the end button is on the side of the telephone. The chocolate comes also comes in pink, cherry, dark, mint, and white. I definitely think that appearance while the LG Chocolate is the winner because looks completely different from the traditional phone and its outstanding display.

Even though all a cellphone has to do is make calls, we all know that the features are what makes them different. The Motorola Razr v3m features a decent speaker phone, bluetooth capability, and a 1.3 mega pixel camera with a self-timer function. The Motorola Razr v3m is an integrated music player that supports headsets. Its music playback is good but not spectacular. The Motorola Razr V3m has a rated talk time of 3 hours and a standby time of 13 days. The LG chocolate has a good speakerphone and stereo Bluetooth profile. The LG chocolate is also an integrated music player that supports headsets, but its sound quality is much better. Its also has a 1.3 mega pixel camera. The Chocolate has a rated talk time of 3.5 hours and a promised standby time of 10 days. In the area of features, I would also recommend the LG Chocolate because of its outstanding sound capability.

When purchasing a cell phone, it is also important to know what other consumers and experts think of them. The yahoo users rank the Motorola Razr v3m as being 4.5 out of 5 stars. The LG Chocolate is ranked as 5 out of 5 stars. The CNET editors rank Motorola Razr v3m as a 7.3 out of ten and the LG Chocolates as a 7.0 out of ten.

Although the experts give contradictory votes for the LG Chocolate and Motorola Razr v3m. I would still recommend you purchase the LG Chocolate at your next contract renewal. It has more fun features and a futuristic look that will make the next two years fun years.
