As a mom, I'm always looking for healthy snack options for my children. However, many of the products on the grocery store shelves contain so many artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners that I worry how they truly affect their growth and development. While applesauce seems like a healthy treat, what is hidden inside isn't always so.
Mott's Plus Cranberry Raspberry Apple Sauce was just alright. The package touted extra fiber in the product, which I liked for both myself and my family. For me, the taste was decent and not too tart. My kids loved it, asking enthusiastically for more when the little cups were empty. (And, in toddler fashion, throwing a tantrum when we were all out of it!)
What I did not like about this apple sauce was the amount of sugar. 11 grams per serving seemed a bit high compared to other choices on the market. However, this is still better than many other snack products marketed to children and families.
Convenience was relatively easy, as the cups were easy to store and open when being used on-the-go or in a packed lunch. My oldest child was easily able to eat straight from the cup with a small spoon.
In all, Mott's Plus Cranberry Raspberry Apple Sauce gets a "B" rating from me.
Where Can This Product Be Purchased? Mott's Plus Cranberry Raspberry Apple Sauce is available in local grocery stores and military commissary outlets.
What is the Price Point for This Product? Mott's Plus Cranberry Raspberry Apple Sauce ranges from $4.00 to $6.00 per package. Each package contains six serving sized cups. Based on the service size and price point, I would say that this product is well worth it.
Verdict? Mott's Plus Cranberry Raspberry Apple Sauce had great taste that my children adored. The added fiber is a benefit, but the amount of sugar in the product is not.
