Mountain Days Festival in Dayton, Ohio

Every August music lovers and outdoor enthusiasts swarm to Eastwood Metro Park in Dayton, Ohio. They come for The Mountain Days Festival and to enjoy the great outdoors at a beautiful park nestled deep in the woods. This festival is unique in a couple ways. There are three stages through-out the park and each stage is set up for different styles of music. There is a country music stage, Bluegrass Stage and a Traditional stage. No matter what your musical taste is you are bound to find a stage just right for what you want to hear. The Kentucky Headhunters and Bucky Covington is just a couple of artists who have performed at the festival.

Go Here for a Glimpse

You can bring your own chair or blanket to sit on if you choose, but in the perfect good ole' redneck country tradition, there are hay bales scattered around for you to sit down and watch the show. You can also just sit there to take a break from walking through the beautiful park and visiting the many items and food that is for sale.
When you walk into the park you will walk along a gorgeous wooded area that takes you past a beautiful pond. The Festival is secluded away from the hustle and bustle of Dayton Ohio. One feels as if, for a time they have stepped back into a time when families and couples gathered together to celebrate happy times by attending picnics and square dancing.

The Mountains Days Festival even provides those amusements. There is clogging and square dancing. Visit the large arts and crafts area. Go to the encampment area to learn about the Appalachian people and do some blanket trading.

Purchase some homemade Apple Butter to take home, the delicious homemade goodness for breakfast will give your day a much better start. When you are ready to go watch a great concert? Stop by a food booth and get some homemade pork rinds or an ear of hot buttered corn on the cob. Get the kids a cold pop and for the adults you can get an ice cold beer.

The Mountain Days Festival is held the third weekend of every August. This year is the festivals 24th year of celebrating the music, culture and heritage of the Appalachian people. Admission is $7.00 per person and parking is free. Visit www.mountaindays.info for more information.
