United States of America
Last year "ebooks overtook audiobooks with sales reaching $313 million in 2009, up 177%," according to the State of Publishing. Furthermore, there are now only about half the independent bookstores in the US than there were just ten years ago.
Now may be your opportunity to acquire enough books to make up your own private collection. The Mountain View Mega Book Sale is coming this month. Friends of the Library are clearing out shelves of older books to make way for new titles.
"Come to the sale at 585 Franklin Street in the Library garage and find over 7,000 titles to choose from. Most books, CDs, and DVDs are priced at $2 or less," according to the Friends of the Library. Who knows what treasure you may find?
