Mountain Villa Motor Lodge in Boone, North Carolina

A Simple and Inexpensive Choice for Visitors

Manny Calavera
Mountain Villa Motor Lodge is an unfamiliar name to most travelers -- its exterior unassuming and its location secluded -- but this local franchise offers a comfortable mix of quality and price that will satisfy visitors searching for a mid-level hotel at a bargain.

Good Rooms, Good Rates

Mountain Villa Motor Lodge typically offers rates from $75 and down. It's not uncommon to rent a nice single-bed room for $30, a great price when compared to what you would typically expect from similar offerings. The rooms are clean and tidy, the beds comfortable and the showers spacious. Those who treasure a comfortable hotel environment will be more than happy at Mountain Villa Motor Lodge, as its color scheme and obvious cleanliness help manage to deter the dirty feel that many hotels offer. I am very particular about that certain "feel" a hotel room provides, but Mountain Villa Motor Lodge passes with flying colors.

Interesting Perks

In addition to the clean, simple rooms, Mountain Villa Motor Lodge offers a few unique perks that add to the charm of this mountain business. First, scenic trails (hiking and otherwise) surround the motor lodge, for those of you who wish to travel outdoors and soak in the natural environment. Secondly, this lodge offers an enclosed outdoor Jacuzzi for those looking to relax; soothing music is piped in while you and your friends sit back and enjoy the cool mountain air and the warm waters. Lastly, Mountain Villa Motor Lodge offers a heated outdoor pool for those who enjoy going for a swim; the size, 30 feet by 15 feet, is perfect for a few friends or even your whole family.

Good Reputation

According to TripAdvisor.com, Mountain Villa Motor Lodge is currently ranked #7 out of 21 Boone hotels. Even better, one glance reveals that those ranked above this cozy lodge have average room rates ranging anywhere from $108 to $155, rates much than those of Mountain Villa Motor Lodge. In other words, Mountain Villa Motor Lodge competes at a level that similar hotels cannot approach.

In addition to a solid reputation, local ownership means that the operators are always present to try and provide you with the best service possible. Speaking from personal experience, an issue with an in-room television was quickly address and fixed. These people care about their reputation and it shows.

You Can't Go Wrong

Mountain Villa Motor Lodge is, put simply, a great place to stay while enjoying this quiet mountain town. The rooms are reasonably priced and always clean, the owners and operators consistently friendly, and the perks provided more than enough for all to enjoy.
