Mountain Whitewater Descents: Best Whitewater Rafting in Colorado

Why choose whitewater rafting?
Whitewater rafting should be at the top of everyone's "to-do" list when they travel to Colorado, but finding the right place and the right company to tour with can be a bit of a challenge. Finding the right place is made all the more important when one starts to add up the cost of a rafting trip.

Instead, if you are looking for an opportunity to experience some of the best rafting in Colorado while on your vacation, consider trying Mountain Whitewater Descents in Fort Collins, CO, near Estes Park.

Mountain Whitewater Descents your best bet for whitewater rafting
I am not associated with Mountain Whitewater Descents except as a customer, and after having used their organization to plan rafting trips for years, I can safely say that Mountain Whitewater Descents provides an excellent experience on some of the best rapids in Colorado.

Mountain Whitewater Descents leads daily rafting trips down the Cache La Poudre river. In season, the Cache La Poudre has what many experienced rafters say are the best class III and class IV rapids they have experienced. This section of the Cache La Poudre is exciting and very challenging.

Who is Mountain Whitewater Descents?
Mountain Whitewater Descents was formed by Brad Modesitt, who has now been leading rafting trips down the Cache La Poudre, North Platte, Arkansas, Snake and Salmon Rivers for 15 years. Brad Modesitt is an experienced adventurer who can boast such amazing accomplishments as canoeing from Fort Collins, CO to New Orleans, LA and biking from Colorado to the southern tip of Chile.

His company boasts an impressive set of credentials, as well. With over 30 trained guides, Mountain Whitewater Descents is the safest rafting company that I have worked with. Their guides are trained beyond the minimum requirements for rafting permits, and all that I have had the pleasure of working with are professional and friendly.

When to go rafting
For the best possible rafting experience, book a date in mid-June, and sign up for the Mishawaka full-day trip. Mountain Whitewater Descents is one of the few companies which offer a true full-day trip, and it takes the two-part excursion to really get the most out of your ride. Trust me, you will understand when you get through the thrill of Pine View unscathed why the full-day was worth the extra price.

Also, be sure to grab the full wetsuit, booties and gloves so that you can focus on the rapids rather than your frozen fingers and toes as you fly down the Poudre. And try not to accidentally join the Poudre Swim Team, especially if the water's cold. You don't want Mountain Whitewater Descents' guides to have to save you.
