Mouthwash Can Be Toxic for Children

The Dangers of a Mouthwash Party

Kerry Mulherin
What is wrong with this country that we have poison like this on our shelves, for people to unwittingly leave around for their children? It can be a mistake easily made, but long remembered if you have a child who drinks a bottle of this fire water. We do not have young children in our home, we have 4 teens and a 23 year old, however, with the prevalence of teen experimentation with cough medicines and similar products, I am sure I will not be leaving more liquid around as a temptation for themselves or friends to try a toxic cocktail.

It took me 5 seconds on Google Search to locate this information:
http://secretofthieves.com/toothpaste-ingredients.htm
Of course here are many like it, I chose this as an example only.

Please, if you have children in your house today, see what they are doing right now, read it and then come back to this page. I am far from done. This information is not endorsed by the FDA, but who wants their children drinking mouthwash and eating toothpaste to test their theories? We need to create some noise, very loud noise - to get this garbage removed from our store shelves unless it has the adequate safety mechanisms in place to at least keep our small children out of it.

I am providing the some contact information at the end of this article in the hope that you will explore your homes more closely and complain as much as you can about what you find until something is done about it. Make a list. Oh, and while you're doing it, get that bottle of Vanilla from the kitchen cabinet and flush it down the toilet. It'll smell nice and your child won't be ingesting a shot of 8% alcohol and dying like 9 teens from my home town did in the 90's. It is now not stocked on shelves accessible to the public where I come from, and must be requested by an adult. Spray paint cans are also in a cabinet with a chain and a padlock.

At this time, certain products are not required by law to have child proof lids.

Why?

Because they are permitted to do it. These large companies just keep churning out billions of containers of junk thinking only about their bottom line, because we, the consumers allow it. Our local Government Representatives are there for a reason, we put them there, so let's tell them what they need to do for us.

So, "to whom it may concern", here's my bottom line; I will not be purchasing another bottle, packet, or tube of your toxic waste until the appropriate safety precautions are taken with your packaging.

Truly vital info! So often, we don't think about common household substances that seem more benign or harmless than they are. Mouthwash is one of them. Toothpaste could be another, depending on the ingredients.

It's scary some of the things kids are doing for a quick buzz. Unfortunately, it's dangerous and lethal for many.
